Celsa wishes to heal. She experiments by covering her skin with roots and leaves, immersing herself in the universe of plants that grow in her jungle-like garden. She feels in her body the imprisonment and torture she endured 45 years ago in the concentration camp in Paraguay. In the privacy of her home, she moves photos and objects, reconnecting with her history as part of her healing process.
However, the present intrudes from the radio; the country is governed by the son of the dictator's right-hand man, and the dictatorship has not yet departed.
Sofía Paoli Thorne
Sofia Paoli Thorne was born in Peru in 1982. She had to move with her entire family to Paraguay in 1989 to escape the armed conflicts. There she became a director, producer and founded Tekoha Audiovisual where she made different pieces for television, documentary film and videos for NGOs.
