Mary travels from Honduras to the United States border in search of her son, a migrant kidnapped in Mexico. During her journey, she meets other mothers who are looking for their children and understands the magnitude of the disappearance crisis in the region. Francisco, a leader of the Pesh ethnic group, confronts the destruction of the tropical rainforest, the migration of his children, and the disappearance of his language.
"Toshkua," a word that means "to disappear" in the Pesh language of Honduras, tells the story of those who fight against disappearance, from Central America to the United States.
Ludovic Bonleux
Ludovic Bonleux has written and made five documentaries on violence and politics in Mexico. His film Guerrero (2017) was selected and awarded at numerous Mexican and international festivals and was awarded the Silver Goddess for best documentary by the Association of Film Journalists of Mexico (PECIME).
