LA HOYADA
Between 1980 and 2000, Peru experienced the most extreme period of violence in its history. The Ayacucho region was the most affected. A group of Ayacucho women have been fighting for the construction of the Shrine of Memory La Hoyada, where the army built furnaces to incinerate the bodies of people who suffered extrajudicial executions.

As the coordinator of COPINH (Honduran Indigenous People’s Council), she carried out important work with women human rights defenders in collaboration with ADES (Organization for Socioeconomic Development). Female Human Rights defenders face specific threats and challenges, which these organizations aim to identify and minimize.
